William Miller Frazer, RSA ( 1864-1961)
He was born in Scone, Perthshire, died Edinburgh. He was a landscape painter and highly influenced by his many visits to Algeria, Holland, Italy and Norway. It is said his work has a feeling of Corot about it. Fond of the Norfolk Broads, the Fens and the lowlands of Scotland, Fife in particular. Founder member of the SSA of which he was president in 1908. He was one of the best loved artists of his day and spent most of his time at Bridge of Earn. Exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy throughout his life and also at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour, Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts and Royal Society of British Artists.
